ALTEO’s environmental pillar
In 2022 ALTEO became the first in the Hungarian energy sector to obtain independent international ESG certification, and in 2023 received the EcoVadis Silver rating — placing it in the global top 15% of companies assessed. Our environmental performance scored 80/100.
The Environment pillar rests on three mutually reinforcing areas: climate protection (emissions reduction and renewable expansion), environmental protection (responsible consumption, waste management, Green Office) and the 2040 biodiversity strategic framework. All of these are pulled together by our integrated management system and the Green Finance Framework that took effect in 2025.
We minimise the environmental impact of the energy we generate.

Four of the six UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) we focus on relate directly to the Environment pillar
Clean water and basic sanitation; clean energy; responsible consumption and production; and action on climate change. These focus areas guide our climate and environmental programmes.
Measurable carbon-emission reduction
ALTEO discloses its greenhouse-gas emissions under the voluntary TCFD reporting framework. We have committed to the reduction pathway below for Scope 1, 2 and 3 by 2030 and 2050.

The framework that finances our environmental targets
Our pursuit of sustainability and the Green Finance Framework that entered into force in 2025 are integral parts of our strategy. The framework enables green bond issuance and green borrowing to finance ALTEO’s environmental goals.
