Operational leadership
The Executive Board (senior management) is responsible for operational management and has seven members. The Executive Board is responsible for the operational management of the ALTEO Group in line with the implementation of the strategy, for cost-effective operation, for providing quality services, for creating the conditions for healthy and safe work and for protecting the environment, while complying with the applicable legal requirements.
Under the rules of the ALTEO Group’s Integrated Management System, leadership reviews convened once a year by the CEO review and evaluate compliance with the above requirements and identify further improvement opportunities. During the review, leadership tracks the fulfilment of tasks set out in the Quality, Energy and HSE objectives and programmes, defining new tasks where necessary.

Attila Chikán Jr.
Bio
Attila Chikán Jr has been CEO of ALTEO Plc. since its founding in 2008 and Chair of the Board since spring 2023.
Under his leadership ALTEO has grown into one of Hungary’s leading energy companies. Before this he held various finance and investment positions.
He obtained his degrees at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and the College of Foreign Trade. Active on sustainability issues, the CEO is Chair of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Hungary (BCSDH). He is a Supervisory Board member of the Blue Planet Climate Investment Fund Manager Plc. and of the Blue Planet Climate Foundation. He is Chair of the Supervisory Board of AutoWallis Plc. and a Board member of MÁV Start Plc.
He is a Supervisory Board member of UNICEF Hungary. He sits on the executive of the Sustainability Section of the Hungarian Economic Association and is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ Presidential Committee on Sustainable Development. He runs a sustainability blog, Chikansplanet, as an active thought leader on the topic.
Bodnár Zoltán
Bio
Has worked at the ALTEO Group as head of finance and accounting since February 2018.
Brings broad international corporate experience, having previously held similar positions at AstraZeneca, Diageo and Dreher Breweries.
Responsible for finance, controlling and accounting at the ALTEO Group and its subsidiaries, as well as for IT and office management.
Her degrees were obtained at the Budapest Business School, Corvinus University of Budapest and Purdue University in the United States.
Kovács Domonkos
Bio
Has worked at ALTEO since April 2011.
Brings nearly 26 years of experience in investment analysis, acquisitions and capital markets.
Graduated from the Budapesti University of Economic Sciences in finance in 1993. Spent the following seven years at the corporate finance department of CAIB Értékpapír Rt., participating in many IPO and M&A advisory projects, and from 1997 was Director for Valuations at CAIB.
From 2000 he was Director of Investment Analysis at Wallis Plc., then from 2005 head of group controlling. From April 2008 to March 2011 he led the Valuation and Financial Modelling business at Deloitte Plc.’s financial advisory practice.
Anita Simon
Bio
Has been with the ALTEO Group since January 2019 as head of the waste-management division.
Started his career in agriculture and the feed industry, where he gained foreign-trade and procurement experience, then switched to the environmental industry 15 years ago.
He has broad waste-management experience, specialising in particular in biogas-plant organic-material recovery and trading, while also recognised as an expert across other waste streams. In 2009–2010 he represented Hungary at the FEAD organisation in Brussels in the organic-waste area on behalf of KSZGYSZ.
Within the ALTEO Group he is responsible for sustainability and the circular-economy area. His priority is to apply ESG thinking and sustainability principles in ALTEO’s business decisions and, alongside supporting the e-mobility business, to lead the waste-management division.
His degrees were obtained at the Faculty of Economics and Agriculture of SZIE and at Anglia Ruskin University.
Tokai Magdolna
Bio
Magdolna Tokai brings close to 20 years of professional experience, gained mainly in the energy sector (MOL and MVM), holding several leadership positions both in Hungary and across the region.
Magdolna started her career at the MOL Group, where she first held management and CEO roles at the Croatian subsidiaries INA and Tifon, took part in the INA IPO and in negotiating syndicated loan agreements, and led Tifon’s growth and agile transformation.
After MOL Group she continued her career at MVM as Deputy CEO, responsible for strategy and business development as well as support functions. She led many M&A projects (conventional, renewable and infrastructure), participated in strategy development and bond-issuance projects. She also coordinated the founding and operation of the MVM Group’s first shared service centre (SSC). She is committed to creating equal opportunity.
Varga Viktor
Bio
Has worked at the corporate group (Sinergy) since 2003 in various leadership positions in energy production.
Started his career in the chemical industry, then gained significant experience in commissioning, operating and maintaining power plants.
His engineering degree was obtained at the Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering, his MBA at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and his Energy Management Specialist qualification at Corvinus University of Budapest.
He is currently responsible for the safe, economical and sustainable operation of the facilities in the ALTEO (Sinergy) portfolio and for managing the operations and maintenance area (24 facilities, nearly 140 employees).
Responsible for maintaining the quality of energy services and developing them with the best practices available at any given time, ensuring the satisfaction of the group’s external and internal customers.
Csaba Fekete
Bio
Csaba Fekete is ALTEO’s Deputy CEO for Production Management and Business Development. An engineer by training, he has more than 25 years of energy-sector experience at companies including KPMG, FŐTÁV and MVM, where he held mid- and senior-management roles primarily in project management, business development and strategy.
He joined ALTEO in 2021, initially as Head of Business Development and later as Director of Business Development and Construction. Since March 2026 he has led ALTEO’s energy investment projects and its production-management, business-development and IT areas as Deputy CEO.
