Whistleblower hotline

ALTEO provides a confidential channel for reporting irregularities, ethical concerns and misconduct. The report can be anonymous, and every reporter is protected against retaliation by applicable law and our internal policy.

Introduction

Why we operate a whistleblowing system

As a responsible company, ALTEO is committed to transparent, ethical and lawful operation. As part of this we provide a confidential channel for any person who becomes aware of a work-related breach of law, breach of ethics or other misconduct.

Our whistleblowing system operates under the EU and Hungarian legal framework. Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and Council on the protection of whistleblowers prescribes common minimum standards for reporting acts breaching Union law. It was transposed into Hungarian law by Act XXV of 2023, which regulates complaints, public-interest reports and whistleblowing-related rules.

We handle reports with strict confidentiality: the reporter’s identity is only known to those directly involved in the investigation, and only to the extent necessary to conduct the inquiry. Anonymous reports are also accepted; in that case feedback depends on the contact channel provided.

Scope

Procedure

The process steps

From receipt of the report to case closure we observe the deadlines and guarantees set by Act XXV of 2023.

  1. 1

    Submit a report

You submit the report through one of the channels above. The report may be anonymous — in that case please provide a contact channel for our reply (e.g. an encrypted email address).

  2. 2

    Acknowledgement within 7 days

Within 7 days of receipt we send a written acknowledgement of receipt (unless you expressly decline this, or there is no contact channel for an anonymous report).

  3. 3

    Investigation

The compliance officer or an independent person they appoint will impartially investigate the report. During the investigation we may request further information from you and, to the extent necessary, may hear other persons.

  4. 4

Feedback within 3 months at the latest

Within at most 3 months of receipt, we inform you in writing of the investigation outcome and the measures taken or planned, with their reasoning.

  5. 5

    Action and closure

If the investigation finds the report well-founded, we take the necessary corrective measures (internal proceedings, disciplinary action, damages, notifying the authority). Case closure is documented.

  6. 6

    Maintaining protection

We keep the reporter’s identity confidential throughout the entire process. The reporter must not suffer any adverse discrimination, retaliation or reprisal because of the report — neither during the process nor afterwards.

Legal protection

Reporter protection

Persons reporting in good faith are protected by law against any adverse consequences. Protection applies from the moment of reporting and does not end when the investigation closes.

Anonymity. The reporter’s identity is confidential information. Only those directly involved in the investigation may know it — and only to the extent necessary to perform their duties. Anonymous reports are also accepted and investigated.

No retaliation. No adverse discrimination, retaliation or reprisal may be applied to the reporter on account of the report. This includes termination of employment, change of position, pay reduction, workplace harassment, transfer and any other adverse measure linked to the report. The prohibition also applies to related persons (family member, colleague).

Legal protection. A good-faith reporter is exempt from any related data-protection, trade-secret and other legal liability for transmitting the information (Section 41 of Act XXV of 2023). If the reporter feels that they have suffered adverse treatment due to the report, they can also notify the compliance officer and request that the protection be enforced.
